Hey everyone!
This past weekend was something truly special. I had the incredible chance to head over to La Plagne in the French Alps to join the Roxy family for a freestyle all girls' weekend.
There is something so powerful about being surrounded by a crew of girls who just get it. I spent the weekend riding with some of the most talented Roxy snowboarders and freestyle skiers, and honestly, the energy was unmatched.
Saturday: Park Laps & Pancake Chats
We kicked things off on Saturday at the La Plagne Bellecote snowpark. The conditions were prime, and the vibe was all about progression and hype. Whether we were hitting the rails or finding our airtime on the kickers, everyone was cheering each other on. There's no ego in a crew like this—just pure stoke.
After a long, leg-burning day of riding, we headed back to the chalet to wind down. But the day didn't end when the lifts stopped!
Recovery: We rolled out the mats for some much-needed stretching and yoga to reset our bodies.
Fuel: We moved to the kitchen to cook up a massive mountain of pancakes together (because what's a girls' weekend without snacks?).
Connection: While we ate, the conversation turned into something really beautiful. We talked openly about the mental health challenges we face as athletes—the pressure to perform, the fear of injury, and the importance of looking after your mind just as much as your body.
To wrap up the night, we dimmed the lights and watched an incredible freestyle movie by our host, the legend herself, Tess Ledeux. Seeing her style on the big screen after riding with her all day was the ultimate inspiration.
Sunday: The Tess Ledeux Ride Day
Sunday was all about the next generation. We joined the Tess Ledeux Ride Day, an event dedicated to inspiring and mentoring younger girls.
It was so rewarding to transition from being peers to being mentors. Seeing the local girls' faces light up as they gathered the courage to drop in or try a new grab was the highlight of the trip. It reminded me why I love what I do. Being a "Roxy Girl" isn't just about the tricks you land; it's about the community we build and the way we lift each other up.
